How to keep your data from loss while switching from iOS to Android

Have you ever wanted to switch from iOS to Android but feared that you might lose your precious data?

What kind of data can be backed up?

Unfortunately, you can’t back up your music nor your apps and i think that the main reason behind this is the fact that we are talking about different app stores in the case of the apps and for music the reason has to be because one can’t access his iTunes music unless he is using iTunes so, if you wanted to get your music to your new Android device, you might have to use iTunes from a PC and then from the PC to your android devices, but in this method you can back up:
  • Contacts
  • Calendar events
  • Photos and videos

and here is a step to step guide on how to do this:

  • Step 1:

In this step you will have to download Google Drive from the App Store to your iOS device

  • Step 2:

Now all that you have to do is open Google Drive and open the backup wizard, this can be done by going to Menu > Settings > Backup , here you will have to choose what you want to back up and to make things easier you can back everything by clicking ‘Start Backup’, Google says that the process might take several hours so they advice you to connect our phone to a charger and connect via WiFi :

  • Step 3:

What you have to do now is very simple, just login with your Google account that was linked to Google Drive and your data will be restored:

Reasons to switch:

If you were wondering why some people might tend to switch from iOS to Android, I think that the main reason is because iOS users are usually unable to customize their devices as much as Android users, with Android you can customize your device in pretty much everything.
