Top 5 Android features

Android is an open-source operating System that is used in many of the available devices and the reason behind this is how easy it is to implement the device with Android. And while Android is known for having many features, I will be telling you about the 5 best Android Features that you might have or might have not heard about.

Best Android Features:

1- Customization:

Android as an open-source operating system is very well-known for being customizable, with the limitless options of launchers, icon packs, Lock screen apps, Wallpapers, Tweaks etc etc….
Android users have the ability to Download launchers from the Google Play store that change how your Home Screen looks like, you might be a Samsung user that likes the stock Android experience and UI and hate the TouchWiz UI that came with your phone, or you might have one of those devices that don’t have an App Drawer and everything is in the Home Screen and you like to see your Home Screen clean, it might be the opposite and you would like to have all your apps in the Home Screen, or you might even want to get a new Custom ROM for your device and use it, let’s not forget about the wide variety of icon packs that are available in the Google Play Store, You can even set a Gif you like as a Wallpaper, the options are endless and everything is possible, you don’t even need to have root to do some of these things, but with root there isn’t anything that you can’t do.
I’ve tested many Launchers in my life and if you ask me, I think that Nova Launcher is the best launcher around, I’ve even bought the Prime version because this launcher is so good.

2- The ability to download APK files and install them:

This is something that some people don’t know about, you can actually download any application you want from the web and install it using your android device, but this procedure is pretty risky, because in case you don’t know what you are doing you might get yourself a Malware in your device – , and what this does is it might steal your data and sell it, it might steal your billing Data, it might infect your device with a trojan and you might face many Virus related problems in your device, so to avoid that make sure to download the APKs from good and safe sources, this can also be used to install Apps that are not available in your country, or if you have a kindle device, and to do this all you have to do is go to Settings > Security > toggle the Unknown sources option, you will get a warning about your device being more vulnerable, so if you understand the risk and know what you are doing press OK.

 3- Battery Saving:

If you think that you are saving battery when you close all the apps in the background then you should know that you are doing it wrong. As it was confirmed that closing all the apps from the recent tasks bar actually makes the battery lose some juice. And that’s because what you do is close the apps so whenever you are trying to open them you will have to reopen the again, which means we have more juice to lose, because we are opening it all over again. But if we kept it open, the app will open pretty much instantly, so the launch time is less, meaning less battery consumption.

But if you were still interested in saving battery you can try one of these things:
A- Turn off notifications for certain apps that you don’t care about.
B- Check what are the apps that are actually consuming the power by going to Setting > Battery, or simply click at the battery icon in the status bar.
C- Use dark wallpapers and avoid using live wallpapers / using gifs as in Feature #1.
D- Use the battery saving mode / ultra power saving mode.
E- Try removing widgets that you don’t use anymore / are not really important.

4- The ability to have multiple users:

Let’s say you have that cousin that really annoys you and always asks for your mobile phone to play with it, but you don’t want him to get to your social media apps, you might not want him to open your YouTube account because you don’t want your history to be full of things you couldn’t care less about, or you just want to trick him by telling him that you don’t really have any games in your phone so he should just back off, or well you might have more serious circumstances where you need more than one user in your mobile, fortunately you can do this with Android, all you have to do is to get to the notification bar and click on that user icon in the upper right corner next to the settings icon, from there you can either add a new user o just add a guest account and from there you use it, but i must tell you though that when you use another user it’s like using another phone, it’s like a completely new one, so if you need to use an app that was already download you would have to re-download it, also as you can see from the screenshots below the users have different wallpapers and different everything so it really is like a different phone.

5- Easier access from quick settings menu:

This feature can be pretty handy when you need it. Sometimes you might have no time to actually go to settings and then go to WLAN then choose your Wi-Fi, or if you want to use Bluetooth but need to do it quick. Fortunately with this feature you can actually access the settings from the quick settings bar by tapping the arrow icon. From there too you have access to GPS, Do not disturb mode, Airplane mode etc etc…
